An Old Photo of my two best boys!!
This was one of the many outings at Cowboys that the Spraggins/Peeks did. This was for my birthday but also it was b/c William was home still for Christmas (the date on the picture isn't right). This was before William and Kenna and Christopher and April even dated.. So I had them all to myself.. We went back to the Peeks and stayed up all night playing play station Medal of Honor, and i even got up and went to work that day even though I was exhausted!!! Good Times and Good memories!!

ProActive
Ok so on a much lighter note than my last blog..When I was in high school I had the most beautiful skin.. i got the norplant in my arm when i was 18 and it made me gain so much weight and it just threw my hormones crazy and ever since then my skin has been so horrible!!! I went to the dermotologist and he gave me Retin-A it really helped but i never got the prescription filled i only used the samples that he gave me.. So this week I swear I have had a bad, bad outbreak on my face so i decided to try the Proactive that every star pushes b/c i see the pictures of before and after and it looks like it really works.. so i bought some in Park Plaza Mall and so far it has worked really well.. I will let ya know the results in a few weeks. The only thing i don't like about is all the steps and you have to do morning and night...I have four steps to do and one product you only need to use a dime size and then another you only use a pea size.. (I had to use a Sharpie and write on each bottle to remind myself what to do.. I know how sad is that!!!

Janessa, and only a very small piece of her story w/ her battle w/ cancer!!

I just read Shelley's blog about some ppl that she knew that had cancer and died and it just made me so very sad. B/c I had a very close experience with cancer as most of you know my best friend Janessa Nicole Smith died September 13th 2005 of a very rare form of leukemia. It was the same type Win Rockerfeller died of. Win lived around 10 months or so thanks to a bone marrow transplant that his money bought up in Seattle. I am not bitter at all about that b/c I wanted him to live so bad b/c Janessa tried so dang hard to live those three very short months after she was diagnosed with the leukemia. She was diagnosed on June 20th and her aunt Fran and myself were there w/ her when we got the news exactly what it was. I think I was in shock more than Janessa was b/c she was strong and brave. After that day I spent almost every single w/e w/ her and a few days during the week at UAMS on the cancer floor. I was there at all of her pivotal moments I was there when she got her first round of chemo, I was there when the hair and eyebrows started falling out, I was there when her cousin, Tonia shaved her head bald, I was there for the vena cava port that they had to replace on the other side b/c the first one got infected, I was there when the had her on clear liquids and she begged me just to sneek her in frappicinos from Starbucks, I was there when she could not even smell food b/c it made her vomit, I was there when she could not hold in her bowel movements, I was there for the early morning wake ups from the doctors and nurses (and janessa really did hate that she most), i was there when she began to get delerious and she would talk to noone (that I could see) in the room, I was there when it hurt to even touch a foot to the ground w/o her grimicing in pain, and I was there when they put her in ICU in the middle of the night and when she gave me that last bit of strength or fight that was left in her and went off on me b/c she didn't like the damn oxygen in her nose and I got stern w/ her and said i was gonna shove it up her nose if she took it out again but i told her how much i loved her and how pretty her blue eyes looked i remember them being so brillant and sparkly. A few hours later she died.

I miss her so very much I use to count the months down after she died I remember at six months I said to myself she has been dead longer than she even had the cancer. I remember the time when she was alive and sick and time just went by so slow, but after she died it has gone by so fast and I miss her so very much, but I have to keep telling myself that was God's plan right when he put her on this earth, and she is watching over me and is pretty and not sick anymore and one day I will be w/ her in heaven. I hope that in our day in time they find a cure to all cancers, and that is something else I need to vent on i guess... breast cancer is something that I greatly support, but there are other cancers out there!!! Gosh, I did not want to get on this trip b/c I get on it alot but Janessa was this great person that I looked up to as a big sister and my best friend and I miss her every day but it very, very slowly gets a tiny bit better everyday!!

Shooting at UALR
Um, k... why are all the colleges being shot up??? thank god no one i know was at school today or myself for that matter.. and thank god that only one person was hurt and it wasn't that bad.. i hope they find the two suspects quickly!!!
A student was injured Wednesday in a shooting on a campus parking lot at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Two suspects were at large but the school did not believe others on campus were at risk.
Shots were fired at 2:10 p.m. in a parking lot near University Theatre and Stabler Hall. The victim staggered to a parking lot near the theatre, where ambulance attendants reached him and administered emergency care before taking him to a hospital.
UALR Police Chief Brad King says officers believe the incident was an isolated one.
King says the student was shot as he walked on a sidewalk about 70 yards from the University Theatre. The injured student made it across a small lawn into a parking lot where his black 1990s Honda Prelude was parked.
King says the two men who accosted him immediately left campus after the shooting in a gold colored car. Twenty minutes after the shooting, the university sent an alert by telephone and e-mail to students and campus employees. It wasn't immediately known whether they were told to take cover. King says the alert system worked.
Jon Atwood, a 26-year-old senior mass communications major from Little Rock, says he saw the shooting victim lying on the ground. Atwood says he hadn't heard any gunshots, but the man was moaning.
The victim was taken to a hospital.

Razorbacks
This was all the over the national news and ESPN today. I am so proud of our Hogs.. I met Darren at a Razorback Club Banquet his first year for playing w/ the Hogs. Also, my dad and stepmom and aunt and uncle are best friends w/ Peyton Hillis parents and when my brother did his first tour of duty over seas they signed pictures, and footballs thanking them for serving our country that was when matt jones still played for the Hogs.. I hope that Darren, Felix, Marcus, and Peyton are all going to go far in their NFL careers and I think we should all be proud that they played for the Razorbacks!!! And I hope Petrino will really live up to all of his hype.. On one note of bad news U of A announced today they were uping ticket prices, but I really don't think that will stop us form going and calling those Hogs!!
McFadden’s quick recovery
INDIANAPOLIS – Coming down from the combination of excitement heavily tinged by adrenaline, marketing agent Mike Conley Sr. was hungry. He mowed through a plate of nachos at Champions Sports Bar in but a few celebratory minutes, inspired by another display of speed.
Darren McFadden, who is represented by Conley and contract agent Ian Greengross, may have outrun the questions.
That’s what a 4.33-second time in the 40-yard dash will do at the NFL scouting combine. It doesn’t just turn heads, it turns opinions. In short, the notion that McFadden’s two publicized incidents at bars and some other more minor issues will get in the way of him being one of the top picks may have disappeared as fast as he ran.
It was certainly gone before Conley was done with the nachos, topped off by a few fries off someone else’s plate.
“He’s a game-changing talent,” said Kansas City president Carl Peterson, whose team holds the No. 5 overall pick and has running back Larry Johnson already in the fold. “He helped himself a lot today … if he’s at No. 5 overall, I’m going to have to consider him long and hard. … And I have a great running back.”

Or as St. Louis coach Scott Linehan said: “He didn’t just run fast, but it was his stride that was really impressive. He ran easy, like he could have run 10 more sprints just like that. A lot of guys, you can see they’re giving it everything they have.”
Until Sunday, the debate over who should be the No. 1 pick in the draft was a mass of confusion between McFadden, quarterback Matt Ryan, defensive end Chris Long, offensive tackle Jake Long and defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey.
McFadden’s blazing time may have altered the picture a bit, combined with the speculation that Dorsey has a more severe leg injury that may require surgical repair. Suddenly, you have to wonder if any team can afford to pass on a guy who could be the next Adrian Peterson.
Of course, the Dolphins at No. 1 probably still won’t take McFadden. But the Dolphins really don’t want to take anyone at No. 1. Between Ronnie Brown coming back from injury, Ricky Williams being the backup and more needs than a diva actress (and did we mention the $30-something million in guarantees for the No. 1 pick?), even McFadden would be a luxury for the Dolphins at this point. Similarly, McFadden would be a luxury for St. Louis at No. 2, which has Steven Jackson.
But once you get to No. 3 with Atlanta, then Oakland, the Chiefs, the New York Jets and New England, McFadden gets really tempting. And the Dolphins and/or Rams hope tempting enough that one of those teams might want to trade up with them.
Those teams will have to deal with some baggage McFadden carries. He was briefly handcuffed, but not charged, by police following a fight at a piano bar in his hometown of Little Rock, Ark., last month. He was also involved in a fight outside of a nightclub in Little Rock in July 2006 that reportedly resulted in him needing toe surgery.

Over the weekend, McFadden said that he has two children on the way, one in July and another in August. None of those issues are overwhelming and McFadden already has a lawyer to handle the paternity matters.
But in the Pacman-Vick era of the NFL, everything can be troubling. Furthermore, there are people who worry about McFadden’s immediate family being the source of a lot of his problems.
On the football side, McFadden had 22 fumbles in three seasons. McFadden also weighed “only” 211 pounds, roughly seven pounds lighter than Peterson a year ago at the combine. There are questions about his leg strength and, ultimately, his ability to take the pounding of an NFL career.
“People don’t understand, Darren is still developing,” said Conley, a 1992 Olympic gold medalist in the triple jump. “He’s only 20 now. He’s going to get stronger.”
Evidence of that is the 10-foot, 8-inch mark McFadden posted in the broad jump, Conley noted. It was second among the running backs but is an indication of how powerful McFadden’s legs are.
Some of that development was held back during his three years at Arkansas because of a knee injury he suffered in high school, Walker said.

“He wasn’t able to do squats in weightlifting until we got him,” Walker said. “He had a knee injury in high school and the strength coaches at Arkansas didn’t want to risk him doing squats while he was there. They have a great program there, but their goal is to make sure they get him on the field while he’s there.”
Walker said he showed McFadden how to do squats while they were training in McKinney, Texas, where McFadden also works with former Olympic sprinter Michael Johnson. Within a few minutes of learning how to do it, McFadden was doing reps with 315 pounds.
“Think about what’s going to happen now that he can spend more time training and has a really controlled regimen,” Walker said. “I think we’re just scratching the surface.”
For example, Walker noted how McFadden ran the 40 in plain training shoes, nothing much more than regular tennis shoes, a long way from the specialized cleats everybody else wore.
“Those cleats that are like this heavy,” Walker said, tossing a napkin in the air. “If he runs in those, who knows how much faster he runs.”
Any faster and who knows how much more excited eating Conley might have done.

Catch Up
Ok, I have been way too busy to blog, with my new job and getting things ready for school it has been really hectic!! First, I already posted this on my mypsace page but I wanted to put it here too, if ya like this horse races they start this weekend and I am super excited!!

January is the best month of the whole year. Not b/c it is my birthday month, not b/c you have just survived Christmas and have hopefully started your New Year w/ a Big Bang, but b/c it is horse time in the Spa City. The horse races are one of my favorite things to do and if I lived in Hot Springs I would be so, so poor and probably homeless. I copied some stuff off Oaklawn website.. The Smarty Jones Stakes look very lucretive and also he was a very, very good horse and we should be proud to say he was from Arkansas.. No, we have yet to get a horse like Man o' War but I think if we keep supporting Arkansas Racing we will get there!! Well, read away and I hope you peeps get to the races b/w January 18th and April, I know I sure will be!! Oh, and if you need pointers I may be nice & tell some of my great secrets to ya!! Also, box seats are not that expensive so I suggest you spend the extra money for luxury!!! Not to mention the corn beef sandwiches are 50 cents opening w/e and are to die for!!!
Simulcast, Instant Racing and Gaming continue to Oaklawn, however it is clear that the bustle of something important coming and that is, of course, the live racing season, which gets under way on Friday, January 18.
The Opening Day festivities, which include the price rollback on Corned Beef Sandwiches, which will once again be offered at 50 cents, will start a four-day weekend that includes the Martin Luther King holiday, Monday, January 21. On that day Oaklawn debuts a new stakes race, the $50,000 Smarty Jones Stakes, and will offer a free Smarty Jones commemorative Bobble Horse to paid admission as long as the supply lasts. This collector's item is sure to be a big hit with Oaklawn fans as the anticipation is building towards Oaklawn's three-year-old program which has turned out major champions each of the last four years.
Simulcast players will get to continue enjoying racing programs from across the country until Tuesday, January 15, when the Simulcast Center will close down in anticipation of the Friday opening. Limited evening racing around the country on Mondays and Tuesdays in January will shorten the racing programs on those days, but excellent racing programs will be available the rest of the weeks leading up to the opening. In particular tracks like Gulfstream Park, Fair Grounds and Santa Anita will be offering performances on Monday afternoons throughout January, making that a very interesting simulcast day for most players.
Oaklawn Reserved Seat Office remains open Monday-Friday each week to address your needs for seats for the 2008 live season. Dining reservations for the live meet will go on sale, starting Wednesday, January 9, 2008. To contact the Reserved Seat Office, call 1-800-OAKLAWN, extension 130, or (501) 623-4411, extension 130.

Here is a pic of my new tattoo, I could not get my camera to focus so it doesn't look that fabulous, but it is finally almost healed and I can not wait until summer to show it off!!

This is my new North Face jacket that I got for my birthday and I love it, I didn't get the one I really wanted b/c it was like $175 so I settled for this one which still was a pretty penny. Plus, I got some new Nikes and a pink Columbia watch.

I got this nifty bag for my birthday. It is the perferct size to carry school books in my friend Donna bought for me at Target.
Ok, I am sure as most of the Warren bloggers know I have been friends w/ Jowaun Wright since we were in high school, and we had a dinner date last night and he reminded me that we need to start voting for his younger brother Jarius for the Landers Award click on KATV.com and click on the link Landers Award and find his name and vote!! Reed McKinney won in 2001 so we need to show the big towns that Warren is going to be a repeat winner!! You can vote as much as you would like!!

GO JARIUS!! WE BACK THE JACKS!!!

So mom, Fran, Tonia, Kate, Tricia and little Mattie came up here Sat. morning and we went shopping and then ate at Kobe's Japanese steak and sushi and it was so good!! So we decided to do the tattoo thing again so i took the girls to 7th street tattoo and jules got the classic "tramp stamp" a cross on her back and i got a design i found in a book about Gandhi on my left foot considering i already had one on my right foot..(this is my 4th tattoo).. I'll put pics up later, but i got some of jules...also, i have been so sick with a horrible head cold since last Friday, me a Keith had went to the movies that Thursday night to watch Sweeney Todd (which is flippin' awesome)and he was sick and gave to me isn't he a sweet friend??? i am ready for warm weather!!!
